Winter Holiday on Lord Howe Island

By | Lord Howe Island | No Comments

One of the amazing advantages of living on Lord Howe Island is the year round consistently good weather. From summer through to winter it rarely drops below the 20’s. With clear skies and the warm currents of the Pacific warming the ocean around the island, making it ideal for an Australian winter holiday.

What better place to holiday on the island than Lord Howe Island’s own Beach House, Blue Peter. Available all year round, across the road from the Lagoon, on Old Settlement Road. The Blue Peter Beach House is the ultimate location for a quiet winter holiday, with no nearby neighbours, and the beach over the road, you couldn’t ask for more.

Lord Howe Island the Ultimate Winter Holiday

Blue Peter Lord Howe Island Beach House

We recently had the privilege of having Art Director James Drury from Think Big Creative, and National Geographic photographer Craig Parry staying with us on the island. They took some amazing still photography around the island, but what really amazed us, was the breath taking video footage they took using drones. The Blue Peter – Lord Howe Island Beach House video below starts at a spectacular 1.6 Kilometres out at sea, then swooping in low through the Old Gulch finishes the final shot.

Enjoy these breath taking views in person by booking with us at Blue Peter – Lord Howe Island Beach House.

Photographers on the Island

February had an Art Director from Think Big Creative and Craig Parry Photography staying with us on the island. They had drones, underwater photography equipment, and spark for adventure. The results speak for themselves.

Coming in the next couple weeks is footage of a drone that flew 1.6 k’s out to sea, then flew through the mountains to it’s final resting place, simply speaking, breath taking.

Photography also centered around our Lord Howe Island luxury retreat Arajilla, and our Lord Howe Island Beach House, Blue Peter. We feel that the photography gives the island a fantastic visual context, and helps one see exactly how fantastic the island is.
